It's hard to believe it's almost December!  Read on for some updates that may help explain why the past month has flown by for us at GSFABA!

We held our annual Fall breakfast only a few weeks ago on Monday, October 30th.  Thanks to all who attended (more details below).

On November 9, we held three WEBS events (Working Economic Business Sessions).  The WEBS brought out more than two dozen people who helped identify issues and offer ideas about what the GSFABA should do in the future to better serve the business community. We’re excited to explore our findings from these conversations at our board retreat coming up next month.  If you couldn’t make it and have ideas about new directions GSFABA might explore to better serve your business, please send your ideas along.

Moonlight Magic is Friday!  We’ve been wrapped up in making that event our end-of-year present to the region. We're looking for volunteers so if you've got an hour or two, please get in touch. And plan to come enjoy the festivities and kick off a great holiday season supporting local businesses!

Also, since it’s almost Thanksgiving, it;s a good time to publicly acknowledge the good people and organizations that help make the GSFABA a positive force in the region:

  • Thank you to our members who support our work through payment of dues, sponsoring events, and participation;
  • Thank you to this community and the amazing volunteers that make our work possible;
  • A very special thanks to our board of directors who donate their time and talent throughout the year;
  • And finally, to our staff – Shira Lander (who recently left for warmer climes), bookkeeper ML McGrath, and Carol Foote, our Moonlight Magic coordinator plus the army of independent contractors who help make magic happen – thank you all so very much for all you do.

Wishing you and yours a peaceful and bounteous Thanksgiving.

The Fall Breakfast happened on Monday, October 30, 2017.  We heard news from Beacon Hill and talked to each other about challenges the GSFABA might address in the coming year.  We elected and welcomed new directors to the board:  Jacqui Proctor (Josh Simpson Contemporary Glass), Casey Cussen (Greenfield Cooperative Bank),  Brady McElaney (Pine Hill Orchards), and Andrea Beaudoin (Hearty Eats).  Thanks to all who attended and thanks to our sponsors:  Bridge of Flowers Business Center and Aladco.  Thanks to BAKED for the delicious food!

Help Decorate a Shelburne Falls Tree!

The Second  Annual Festival of Trees Fund Raiser (held at Yankee Candle) for Big Bothers and Big Sisters of Franklin County and The Franklin County Dog Shelter and Adoption Center, would like to prepare a Shelburne Falls Tree to raffle off at the Festival.  We are looking for donations of gift certificates from Shelburne businesses to "decorate" the tree.  The event is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Franklin County and the Kiwanis Club of Greenfield.  We will obtain the tree and add some festive decorations.  Each business that donates will be listed on a sign by the tree and will be invited to our opening Gala on Thursday evening Nov. 30!  Please contact: Toni Manning if you can participate at 625-6409 or Toni.m987@gmail.com  We need to know if you are participating by Nov. 27th. Thank You!
